These institutions are under the authority of the French Ministry of Higher Education, Research and Innovation (MESRI) and award national diplomas. Diplomas awarded by institutions that do not fall under the Ministry’s authority are not subject to differentiated fees.

Following the announcement on 19 November 2018 by the French Prime Minister, Edouard Philippe, that the government was introducing a strategy called “Bienvenue en France” (“Choose France”), the objective of which is to make France more appealing to mobile students, it is important to ensure that international students are informed about increased enrolment fees that might affect them. This information, which is in line with the government’s approaches at this stage, must allow students to make decisions about pursuing their studies in the best possible conditions.
